The Department of Pharmacy employs 65 clinical and support staff, including 19 pharmacists who provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services. Cookeville Regional Medical Center utilizes an electronic medication administration record, bar code medication administration, pharmacy automation including robotics and storage and retrieval systems, and clinical decision support software to provide optimal, safe and efficient pharmaceutical care. This integrated system alerts pharmacists to therapeutic, safety or cost concerns and allows them the opportunity to:

  • Quickly evaluate patient data, including demographics, laboratory results and microbiologic cultures, current and previous medications; and pertinent drug levels during medication profile review, on rounds, and during dispensing activities
