Cookeville Regional Welcomes First Baby of 2025

Samuel Zion Aybar, son of Abigail and Edwin Aybar was born Jan. 1, 2025, at 12:58 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and measured 20.5” long.

The care team who helped welcome him: Dr. Curtis Solar, Jennifer Stearns, RN, Emily Dishman, Surgical Technician, and Marjorie Adam, RN.

In 2024, Cookeville Regional’s birthing unit saw 1,617 total deliveries. There were 17 sets of twins born and of the 1,617 deliveries; there were 789 females and 828 males. The biggest baby delivered weighed 10 pounds 10 ounces, and the smallest was 2 pounds 10 ounces.

The Gift Shop and Cookeville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary donated a New Year’s basket to celebrate the arrival of the first baby of 2025.
