Outpatient Therapy Services (PT/OT/Speech)

You have a choice
when it comes
to therapy services.

We offer a variety of treatment options for infants to the geriatric population.

The Outpatient Therapy Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center features a spacious gym area with weight lifting and aerobic equipment, a variety of pain-relieving modalities, plus machines capable of isokinetic and functional capacity testing. The center provides physical therapy and occupational therapy, as well as speech therapy.

Pediatric therapy services, from occupational, physical, speech and feeding therapy is also available. Private treatments are available if needed.

Depending on the nature of your injury, your treatment might be given by physical or occupational therapists who will help you get back muscle control or function.

You may see a speech therapist or an occupational therapist who can help you return you to your activities of daily living.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

  • Amputee therapy. We have specialized equipment to help with weight bearing as needed.
  • Orthopedic and sports-related injuries.
  • Neurological therapy – stroke and traumatic brain injury.
  • Back and spine therapy.
  • Incontinence/pelvic floor/weakness and pain. This is available for pediatric patients who may experience bedwetting and adults as well.
  • Wheelchair assessments.
  • Industrial rehabilitation program.
  • Dry needling.
  • Vestibular rehab/balance issues.
  • Comprehensive manual therapy.
  • Work conditioning/functional therapy tests.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

  • Certified hand therapist.
  • CBIT – Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics therapy. This is for both adult and pediatric patients who have Tourette’s syndrome and various other tics.
  • Lymphedema therapy – upper and lower extremities.
  • Neurological therapy – stroke and traumatic brain injury.
  • Work conditioning/functional capacity tests.

SPEECH THERAPY

  • Speech/language and voice therapy
  • Cognitive evaluation and treatment.
  • Swallowing evaluation and treatment.
  • Neurological therapy – stroke and traumatic brain injury.
  • Feeding therapy.

SPORTS MEDICINE

Cookeville Regional Medical Center is proud to serve the community with a variety of invaluable healthcare needs. One of those services is providing sports medicine services to the athletes at the Putnam County’s three high schools.

We have three sports medicine specialists who works with all of the high school athletes:

  • Christopher Loubier (Cookeville High School) is a graduate of Georgia State University and is a certified athletic trainer.
  • Candy Mickey (Monterey High School) is a graduate of California University in Pennsylvania. She worked with various sports teams as an athletic trainer.
  • Allan Malone (Upperman High School) is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and is an adjunct instructor in the pre-athletic training program at Tennessee Tech.

We value the relationship we have with the Putnam County School System and we have everything that is needed to treat your student athlete and any type of sports injury.

You can access the clinic from 7th Street.

DIRECTIONS
From Willow: Turn east on 7th Street, right on Medical Center Boulevard, and right into the parking lot to the entrance on the north side of the building with the white awning.

INSURANCE
Cookeville Regional’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center takes most major insurances, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Worker’s Comp, TennCare/Medicaid and Medicare.
