Our surgical teams work closely with the surgeons in a continuous effort to improve the surgical care we provide all of our patients. The skills and experience of our nursing staff and their ability to adapt to new physicians and procedures assures patients of consistent quality care.
To continually provide the best care, our surgeons maintain and improve their expertise in a variety of surgical procedures, including dedicated teams for da Vinci robotic surgeries. Trained as general surgeons, they receive further training in their areas of surgical specialty, such as ear, nose and throat (E-N-T), general surgery, vascular, thoracic, open heart, orthopedics, podiatry, plastics, urology, neurosurgery, gynecology, urogynecology, bariatric surgery and oral surgery, including pediatric oral surgery.
Current technologies often allow for less invasive surgeries and improved recovery times. Cookeville Regional’s surgery department has six state-of-the-art, fully integrated operating room suites and two state-of-the-art cardiovascular operating room suites. In addition, 12 fully equipped operating rooms, performing procedures from each of these services Monday through Friday. A qualified team of nurses and technicians are on call for emergencies seven days a week.
The Same Day Surgery Unit is a 31-bed unit with all private rooms for outpatient surgeries and/or procedures.
