Pharmaceutical services

From everyday medicine needs to
specialty medications and infusion therapy,
you can find it at Cookeville Regional.

We’re more than a pharmacy — we are a part of your care team.

Our pharmacy offers a range of medications as well as patient education and counseling, all with a focus on your health and safety. We employ 85 clinical and support staff, including 34 full-time and part-time pharmacists, along with two PGY-1 residents, who provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services.

Our department utilizes an electronic medication administration record, bar code medication administration, pharmacy automation including robotics and storage and retrieval systems, and clinical decision support software to provide optimal, safe and efficient pharmaceutical care.

This integrated system alerts pharmacists to therapeutic, safety or cost concerns and allows them the opportunity to:

  • Quickly evaluate patient data, including demographics, laboratory results and microbiologic cultures, current and previous medications; and pertinent drug levels during medication profile review, on rounds, and during dispensing activities
  • Identify patients whose medication therapy and consults require a pharmacist’s daily review
  • Document pharmacist-performed clinical activities and interventions

We also provide 24-hour inpatient pharmacy services through central and specialty pharmacy.

We focus on delivering quick and accurate prescription services while educating patients on the importance of their medication therapy.
