Nurse Navigator
The orthopedic nurse navigator prepares and educates the patient, and their family, prior to their procedure so they have an easier time transitioning home and returning back to the activity level they strive for.
THE PRIMARY ROLE OF AN ORTHOPEDIC NURSE NAVIGATOR:
Dennis Holpp, RN, has been an employee of Cookeville Regional Medical Center for more than 20 years. He started working as a PCA on the post-op floor for two years before graduating from Roane State Community College with his nursing degree in 2002. He then transferred to the ICU where he worked for 10 years. He then transferred to surgery as a circulator and clinical coordinator.
Dennis Holpp, orthopedic nurse navigator, holds educational classes for those preparing for joint replacement procedures.
