Patient Account Specialist

Type: FT
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Hours: 8a-5p
Experience: At least two years general office experience. Previous Healthcare Billing/Collection experience required.
Skills: Knowledge of general office procedures, proficient computer skills in Windows 95 or greater. Must possess the ability to work well under pressure meeting deadlines, production to handle large volume of claims without diminishing required accuracy. Must be self-sufficient and reliant. Must be flexible and willing to accept and adapt to constant change due to changes enforced upon providers by insurance carrier changes and regulations and changes in contract negotiations between provider and insurance companies.

This position is responsible for financial counseling of patients regarding payments, payment plans, and financial assistance.  Each staff member is required to obtain adequate knowledge and speed to keep up their particular responsibilities efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.

Coding Supervisor

Type: FT
Education: Education and credentials as Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Professional Coder, or other acceptable coding certificate required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
Hours: 8a-5p
Experience: Three to five years of experience in healthcare business practices relative to coding, billing auditing, payer requirements and reimbursement. Extensive experience with multi-specialty professional coding and auditing required. Previous supervision experience preferred.
Skills: The following skills are required for this position: • Expert knowledge of professional fee/physician services coding, including ICD10 coding guidelines, CPT procedure codes, and HCPCS codes. • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, 1995 and 1997 documentation guidelines, Medicare NCD/LCD and CCI edits, billing requirements and coding compliance. • Ability to quickly and accurately research new concepts related to coding/billing requirements; strong knowledge of all resources available including CMS website, payer websites, and reputable coding publications. • Excellent verbal and written presentation and education skills. Ability to develop rapport and trust in dealing with physicians and staff regarding coding or documentation issues. • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to evaluate issues, develop and implement solutions. • Knowledge of general office procedures, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Must possess ability to work well under pressure, to function independently, and to be flexible in applying knowledge to a variety of situations.

This position is responsible for all aspects of chart audits and coding for the professional services that are billed through the CRMG Central Billing Office.  The Coding Supervisor works with the Director to develop coding compliance standards, policies, and procedures and conducts audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with those standards and policies.  Works with staff and Physicians to educate regarding any coding issues or opportunities, and supervises all Coding Staff.
