Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Type: PRN
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Master’s program or Masters of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies. Evidence of continuing education. Current unrestricted Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse and RN or Physician Assistant. Must hold a National Certification in a Nursing Specialty Area.
Hours: 7a-7p
Experience: Minimum one year experience preferred.
Skills: Advanced Practice Nursing Skills.
Description:

Under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed physician, the Advanced Nurse Clinician/Physician Assistant assesses patients’ Medical/surgical conditions, administers treatments under physician orders or in conformity with usual practice, advises and counsels patients or their legal guardian of patient problems.  This privilege does not include the practice of obtaining informed consent.

Patient Representative

Type: FT
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Hours: 7a-7p
Experience: Required experience of at least 6 months in a medical front office setting.
Skills: Required: Knowledge of general office equipment including phone, fax, copier, computer. Excellent telephone etiquette. Good computer skills with knowledge of computerized scheduling, Knowledge of insurance carriers. Keyboarding skills, Basic understanding medical terminology. Strong Interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task.
Description:

This position is responsible for serving as the first impression of the physician office while initiating the registration processes in a professional, courteous and consistent manner by assuring prompt and proper treatment for all patients. 

LPN/CMA

Type: PRN
Education: CMA:High School Diploma. Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants. Certification as medical assistant preferred. Participation in continuing education programs, in-services/workshops is required as based on departmental needs. LPN: Graduate of a school of practical Nursing. Current Tennessee LPN license.
Hours: 7a-7p
Experience: CMA: Front and/or back office experience in medical setting is required as well as public relations. Previous employment in medical office clinic or setting is required with at least 3 months experience. LPN: Experience of at least 6 months in a physician’s office setting or 2 yrs experience in direct patient care at a medical facility.
Skills: CMA: Must possess knowledge of general office procedures, typing skills, knowledge of office equipment and supplies; proficient knowledge of computers and various software. Must have a complete command of medical terminology, the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team, manage multiple tasks and function independently. Must be able to adapt to changing work environment and work well under pressure. LPN: BLS required at hire or during orientation.
Description:

CMA: This position is responsible for certified medical office assistant duties with the physician office.

LPN: This position is responsible for providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; observes, assesses, treats and cares for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process.  Oversees the work of non-licensed personnel.
