The competent perioperative care technician is responsible for performing many aspects of basic patient care, including but not limited to, patient care assistance appropriate to age of the patient, transportation of the patients, supply and equipment maintenance, transportation of specimens and blood products to and from the department. Assists surgical team members in the preparation and set-up of their rooms. Performs housekeeping duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Circulator, Registered Nurse OR
This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. The nurse must have a working knowledge of sterile technique. The nurse is responsible for administration of IV conscious sedation and monitoring patients. The nurse acts as a liaison between surgical technologist, anesthesia, and the medical team. They also are responsible for documentation of the surgery including supplies, charges, implants, equipment, etc. Counts will be performed and documented according to policy. The nurse must participate in quality improvement and the educational development of self and others. The nurse will function as a patient advocate and promotes good community relations for the surgery department and CRMC while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Certified Surgical Tech
This position is responsible for maintaining stock and ordering necessary supplies, decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies, instruments and equipment dispensed by the department following infection control practices. Has completed all necessary educational and testing requirements for national certification. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and all duties relative to the department. Position assures compliance and upholding of the Medical Center’s policy of non-discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, physical or mental handicap, pregnancy or veteran status. Position may interact with all ages of patients, guests, staff and others.
This position is responsible for, under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed physician, assessing patient’s surgical conditions, administering treatments under physician orders or in conformity with usual practice, assisting physician as directed intra-operatively. This privilege does not include the practice of obtaining informed consent. Performs other duties as assigned.
