Armed Security Officer

Type: PT
Education: High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required; post secondary education/experience in criminal justice preferred. State of Tennessee Armed Security Guard license preferred. Must complete the first two IAHSS levels of certification and other required training within the first 12 months of employment or promotion.
Hours: Varied
Experience: Must be 21 years of age. State of Tennessee Law Enforcement Commission or POST certification (other state’s equivalent accepted) in good standing or a minimum of two years military, law enforcement, or armed security experience preferred or possess a specific skill that would benefit the department and hospital. Exemplary CRMC Protective Services job and training performance and State of Tennessee Armed Security license accepted in lieu of other experience. If designated and assigned by director a valid driver’s license would be required which includes: • No more than 2 Minor Violation or at fault accident in the past 12 mos. or 3 in the past 3 years. • No major violations I the past 3 years • No suspended, expired, revoked, or other status indicating the driver is not licensed. • No inexperienced drivers having less than 3 years operating the vehicle type they are driving.
Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills and extremely strong skills in personal diplomacy; demonstrates personal traits of a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism and trustworthiness, places high value of treating others with dignity and respect. Must be familiar and remain current on knowledge of criminal and civil statutes relevant to security operations and topics related to responsibilities. Must possess a current, valid Tennessee driver’s license and provide a good driving history. a. Must be able to write legibly. b. Must be able to use a personal computer or have the ability to learn. c. Must be able to produce reports in the security software competently and accurately or show improvement over time. d. Must be able to use a two-way radio. e. Must be able to pass the CRMC Protective Services armed competency test at the discretion of CRMC Protective Services management. f. Must obtain State of Tennessee Armed Guard license within first 90 days of employment or promotion. g. MUST complete all training courses when designated mandatory by the Director of Security. Employee realizes that much of CRMC Security training is out sourced and make-up dates may not be available. h. Armed Security Officers may be required to perform Shift Supervisor or Training Officer functions when needed at the discretion of the Security Director or Manager. I. While performing the role of Shift supervisor the armed officer must provide to the appropriate recipients a detailed shift pass-on report.

Unarmed Security Officer

Type: PRN
