Speech Therapist

Type: PRN
Education: M.S. degree from accredited Speech Language Pathology program. CCC credentials or eligibility to receive these are also required. Must be able to read and write English.
Hours: Varied
Experience: Experience preferred but new graduate fellowship candidate may be acceptable (if a supervising SLP with credentials is available). Candidate must have current licensure or be eligible to apply for licensure in the state of Tennessee.

The Speech Language Pathologist organizes and conducts speech language therapy programs at CRMC for patients in the acute setting, outpatient setting, home health or inpatient rehabilitation facility as needed to facilitate the rehabilitation of the mentally or physically handicapped.  The SLP provides direct patient focused care to include speech language pathology and swallowing evaluations as well as quality treatment with short and long term goals determined by the patient’s needs. The staff SLP may work with any /all patients of the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency:  Infants (age 0-18 months), Children (age 19 months-12 years), Adolescents (age 13 years –17 years), Adults (age 18 years – 64 years), and Geriatrics (age 65+ years).  All SLP’s are required to have competency for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.  Therapists who will work with children or infants less than 13 years will require specific training and competencies demonstrated prior to working with pediatrics.  The SLP also assists the director of the department in the supervision of support staff, quality assurance and improvement activities and the overall operation of the speech therapy department.  The SLP is required to perform the professional duties and standards of care as specified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, state and federal laws and regulations, and JCAHO standards. 

Insurance Clerk

Type: FT
Education: High school graduate.
Hours: 8a-4:30p
Experience: Minimum of two years in a supervisory position
Skills: Computer, fax, and basic office machine operation
Description:

 

Verifies patient insurance coverage. Processes and ensures the completeness of insurance claims. Follows up on insurance payments and filings. Answers questions concerning account status. Follows-up on claim denials, pending, and aged claims. Activates collection procedure, generates letters, and documents actions.  Performs all secretarial functions for the management/professional staff.  Assists with clerical operation of the department.

 

Medical Record Clerk

Type: FT
Education: High school diploma
Hours: 8a-4:30p
Experience: At least one year experience in a clerical setting. Experience in a medical record department or healthcare office setting preferred. A degree in Health Information Management or related field is preferred.
Skills: Must possess excellent computer skills, knowledge of filing, proficient keyboard skills, knowledge of general office equipment and procedures, legal aspect of confidentiality and release of information. Must be able to organize work, perform activities that are diverse as well as some that are constant and repetitive, identify and resolve problems, understand and screen requests for medical information and be detail oriented for data entry and reporting. Cooperative, congenial and positive behavior exhibited. Behavior and personal appearance reflecting a good image of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Must possess ability to work well under pressure and to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying knowledge to variety of situations

This position is responsible for reception functions of the Medical Records Department, which may include answering phones, routing requests and calls, taking requests for information, assisting customers, coordinating the physician suspension process, assisting Coding, providing monthly reports, prepping/scanning and indexing documents, etc. The HIM Assistant is the appointed Birth Certificate Clerk.
