Description:

 

This position is responsible for providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; observes, assesses, treats and cares for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process.  Oversees the work of non-licensed personnel. 

Patient Representative

Type: FT
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Hours: 8a-5p
Experience: Required experience of at least 6 months in a medical front office setting.
Skills: Knowledge of general office equipment including phone, fax, copier, computer. Excellent telephone etiquette. Good computer skills with knowledge of computerized scheduling, Knowledge of insurance carriers. Keyboarding skills, Basic understanding medical terminology. Strong Interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task.

This position is responsible for serving as the first impression of the physician office while initiating the registration processes in a professional, courteous and consistent manner by assuring prompt and proper treatment for all patients

Scribe(CMA or LPN)

Type: FT
Education: CMA: High School Diploma. Proof of CMA Certification required. LPN: High School Diploma. Licensed as a Practical Nurse with a Tennessee license required. Participation in continuing education programs, in-services/workshops is required as based on departmental needs.
Hours: 8a-5p, M-W
Experience: CMA: Prior experience in a healthcare setting helpful, but not required. LPN: Prior experience in a healthcare setting helpful, but not required.

This position is responsible for facilitating patient flow in the office setting to ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. Assists medical provider by accompanying them to record details into the Electronic Medical Record.  

 

LPN:
This position is responsible for facilitating patient flow in the office setting to ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. Assists medical provider by accompanying them to record details into the Electronic Medical Record.  When needed will be asked to work in the role of LPN.

CMA/LPN

Type: FT
Education: CMA: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Medical Assistant Certification required. BLS healthcare provider certification.. LPN Graduate of a school of practical Nursing. Current Tennessee LPN license. (See Unit Specific Requirements)
Hours: 8a-5p
Experience: CMA Minimum of one (1) year secretarial experience including advanced computer, typing and office skills is required. Pleasant personality and ability to work independently. 2 years CMA or doctors office experience preferred. Phlebotomy experience/certification preferred. LPN Experience in acute care nursing and in the specialty in the department of hire preferred (See Unit Specific Requirements)
Skills: CMA Problem resolution, continuous quality improvement, quality assurance, and data result documentation. Proficiency in applying clerical principles, concepts, and techniques; in verbal & written communication that are central to the discipline. Clinical skills that are within the scope of practice for the CMA. LPN BLS required at hire or during orientation, IV Qualified. (See Unit Specific Requirements)

CMA

 

This position requires professional and courteous manner at all times as the first person who may interacts with clients.  Responsibilities include but not limited to coordination of office services, data entry, scheduling, client check-in/out, charge entry, registration, initial phone and triage management, and maintenance of electronic medical record (EMR) including scanning.  Patient care responsibilities include but not limited to phlebotomy, vital signs, obtaining chief complaint, providing injections, vaccines, TB skin test urine drug screen collection, breath alcohol collection and medications as ordered by the provider.  Clinical procedures including but not limited to: dressing change, ear wash, suture removal, and nebulizer treatment.  Other duties may be assigned by the director.
