All around women’s care is what influenced Dr. Katie Addicott to get into the obstetrics and gynecological field.
Addicott has spent a lot of time in England, which focuses on the whole female care and got her interested in OB/GYN field.
Originally from California, Addicott has family who lives in England, where she also went to medical school.
“I love the fact that I get to work with women, from surgery to delivering babies,” she said. “I’m big on midwife and OB-centered care.”
Addicott earned a bachelor of science in cell and developmental biology with university honors from California State University. She then went on to do a split program with Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia, and St. George’s University of London, where she earned a medical degree in 2018.
She will be offering robotic surgery options for gynecological conditions, joining Dr. Paige Gernt and Dr. Michael Cole in that specialty.
“I chose Cookeville to practice because I see a very family-oriented atmosphere and everyone in the practice is so supportive of each other,” she said.
Addicott’s arrival coincides with the announcement that OB/GYN Associates of Cookeville is partnering with Diana Health to expand women’s health services, including mental health therapy, health coaching and educational classes and events for all patients.
In addition to Cole and Gernt, Addicott joins midwives Ashli Randolph, Jessica Tillery and Rachel Mortensen and health and wellness coach Dayna Jondal.
“We are happy to have Dr. Addicott join the OB/GYN team,” said Paul Korth, Cookeville Regional CEO.
When she’s not working, Addicott enjoys kayaking, hiking, Yoga, photography and white water rafting.
She is currently accepting new patients. Call 931-528-7527 or visit heydianahealth.com/locations/Cookeville/ to book an appointment online.
