COMMUNITY SERVICES
Volunteers perform many tasks in several areas throughout the hospital. Volunteering enables you to help others, share your talents and participate in the community you live in. However, there is now one more reason to volunteer — it’s healthy!
Studies show that volunteers experience a greater-than-average sense of well-being, increases in optimism and decreases in chronic pain.
Volunteering helps you maintain a healthy lifestyle by staying active and involved. By volunteering, you have the chance to help others and meet new people. You have the opportunity to broaden your skills and knowledge.
But more importantly, by volunteering, you make a difference in your life and the life of someone else.
Volunteering is rewarding and fulfilling at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Currently, volunteers can help in the gift shop and at the public entrances in the North Patient Tower lobby and East Entrance lobby.
There are no time constraints when you volunteer. Most volunteers work one shift (varying from three to four hours) a week.
Some donate more time, and others volunteer when they are able.
Whether working a few hours an evening or volunteering a few days a week, schedules are arranged according to your availability.
