New Nephrologist Joins Cookeville Regional

Cookeville Regional Medical Center proudly welcomes nephrologist Lathika Raakesh, MD, to its medical staff. She has joined Cumberland Kidney and Diabetes Specialists at 221 North Oak Avenue in Cookeville with nephrologist Anju Mendiratta, MD, and family practitioner Pardeep Sharma, MD.

Graduating in the top 10 percent, Dr. Raakesh attended medical school at Al-Ameen Medical College in Bijapur, India. She completed an internship at Lincoln Medical Center in Bronx, New York and a residency in internal medicine at Saint Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Dr. Raakesh has a special interest in acute kidney injury, glomerulonephritis, CKD (chronic kidney disease) and electrolyte disorders.
