A Survivor's Story

Boyd Brown

"Being so close was the difference between life or death."

Boyd's Story

When Boyd Brown of Fairfield Glade began having a heart attack during a morning run, paramedics at a nearby EMS substation took him straight to Cookeville Regional, the nearest hospital that performs interventional heart catheterization. Doctors were waiting for him at the door when he arrived. Just a few weeks later, Brown was back to walking, biking and running again. Thanks to CRMC’s groundbreaking Code 37 program, which has helped us attain a record-breaking average of 43 minutes for treating heart attacks, patients throughout the region can enjoy our state-of-the-art care.
