Nurse Practitioner Apply

Under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed physician, the Advanced Nurse Clinician/Physician Assistant assesses patients’ Medical/surgical conditions, administers treatments under physician orders or in conformity with usual practice, advises and counsels patients or their legal guardian of patient problems.  This privilege does not include the practice of obtaining informed consent.  Demonstrates  knowledge of the psychosocial needs, clinical assessment implications, and/or consequences of technology

1.   EDUCATION:  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Master’s program or Masters of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies.  Evidence of continuing education.  Current unrestricted Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse and RN or Physician Assistant.  Must hold a National Certification in a Nursing Specialty Area.


2.  EXPERIENCE:  Minimum one year experience preferred.


3.   SKILLS:  Advanced Practice Nursing Skills.

Scheduler/Referral/Pre Cert Apply

Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Scheduler, Referral, Precertification Coordinator processes all requests received via fax, CPOE, and verifies member eligibility, including checking Practice Plus eligibility. Ascertains benefit availability and creates all events in Athena EMR by responding to request per CRMG workflows. Is responsible for notifying requesting providers if the member has terminated coverage, any problems with referrals, or scheduling procedures or tests. Coordinates with the physician in the provision of care, out-patient services provided to minimize the process steps necessary for physician to achieve access for their patient. Assuring that the appropriate payers' have been identified and payers' requirements have been met. Prior authorizing by an insurance company approving the medical necessity of the procedure. Improve the relationship between the hospitals, physician by assuming this responsibility. Education of physician and team members about regulatory and process requirements.


  1. EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED


  1. EXPERIENCE:  Minimum twelve months experience working in a physician group practice in the pre-cert, referral or scheduling department.


  1. SKILLS:  Knowledge of general office machines, good computer skills. Comfortable using email and interacting with computer applications. Knowledge of practice management and word processing software. Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously. Must have a neat and professional appearance. Strong written and verbal communication skills and cheerful attitude. Able to enter data into the computer system accurately.  Adapt well to changing priorities.

This position is responsible for certified medical office assistant duties with the physician office. Performs Pulmonary Function Test as ordered by physician in the office setting.


  1. EDUCATION:  High School Diploma. Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants.  Certification as a Medical Assistant is required  and additional education helpful but not required; participation in continuing education programs, in-services/workshops is required as based on departmental needs.


  1. EXPERIENCE: Front and back office experience in medical setting an asset as well as public relations.  Previous employment in medical office clinic.  Ability to perform EKG’s, phlebotomy, injections, vital signs, etc. with accuracy.


3.        SKILLS:  Must possess knowledge of general office procedures, typing skills, knowledge

           of office equipment and supplies; proficient knowledge of computers and various software.  Must

           have a complete command of medical terminology, the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary

           team, manage multiple tasks and function independently.  Must be able to adapt to changing work

           environment and work well under pressure.


This position is responsible for providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; observes, assesses, treats and cares for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process.  Oversees the work of non-licensed personnel. 

1.         EDUCATION: Graduate of a school of practical Nursing.  Current Tennessee LPN license.        


2.         EXPERIENCE: . Experience of at least 6 months in a physician’s office setting or 2 yrs experience in direct patient care at a medical facility.


3.         SKILLS:  BLS required at hire or during orientation
