Patient Care Associate

This position is responsible for performing basic and advanced Nursing Assistant skills under the direct supervision of an RN/LPN according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines within the department and the Medical Center. 

1.         EDUCATION: High school graduate (or have minimum of GED). CNA Certification   preferred. CMA required at Inpatient Rehab.

2.         EXPERIENCE:  Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred.  No minimum required.

3.         SKILLS:  Able to read and write English.  Clinical skills to perform basic nursing care.  BLS current or within first 90 days of employment.


This position is responsible for escorting DIRECT ADMIT patients to and from The INTAKE Center.  Responsible for maintaining proper function of all equipment used while escorting patients (including, but not limited to, oxygen tanks, IV pumps, IV poles, wheelchairs, stretchers, patient beds). 

1.         EDUCATION:

A.  High-school diploma (or GED).

B.  CPR certification preferred but not required for hire. CPR certification mandatory after 3 months. 

2.         EXPERIENCE:

Some medical background preferable, but not necessary.  Customer Service/relations experience required.           

3.         SKILLS:

  1. Able to Interact with the public in a pleasant, positive and courteous manner.
  2. Answers the telephone politely and obtains all necessary information.
  3. Able to provide assistance to clerical, clinical and nursing staff.
  4. Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in the prompt, precise and                      

    1. professional manner.
  5. Basic computer skills are necessary.


Transfer Center LPN Apply

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care relative to room and bed assignment, coordinates room and bed assignment with nursing units, nurse managers, and nursing supervisor; coordinates with physicians and physician’s office staff.  Assist Transfer Center Coordinator (“TCC”) in data gathering.  Responsible for admissions and in-house transfers in STAR.


  1. EDUCATION:  Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.  Current Tennessee LPN License.


  1. EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of one (1) year experience in hospital acute care nursing required.


  1. SKILLS:  BLS required at hire or during orientation.  Must have a working knowledge of computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone.  Must have strong interpersonal communication skills for interaction with staff, patients, physicians and visitors.  Must be receptive to change in patient flow management.
