UNIT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

 

Cancer Center:

  1. Oncology certification preferred
  2. Two years experience in acute care nursing with minimum one year experience in oncology required.
  3. Must pass chemotherapy certification  course in order to administer chemotherapy.
  4. Knowledge of oncology treatments and side effect management.

 

Cardiac Rehab

  1. Minimum of one year Cardiac Care experience is required
  2. ACLS required within six months of hire

 

Cath Lab/EP Lab

  1. ACLS Certification upon hire or within 1 year of hire
  2. Basic Arrhythmia upon hire or within 1 year of hire
  3. One year or more critical care experience required
  4. Previous EP/Cath Lab experience preferred
  5. Critical Care course upon hire or within 3 years of hire
  6. RCIS / RCES certification preferred         

 

 

Critical Care

1.  Previous critical care experience preferred

2.  Critical Care course or CCRN upon hire or within 3 years (Exception:  Experienced critical care nurses will be given the BKAT standardized test upon hire and those scoring 85 or greater will not be required to attend the Critical Care Course.)

3.  Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire or within 1 year (Exception:  Nurses with experience in patient populations requiring arrhythmia interpretation will be given the standard CRMC Basic Arrhythmia test and those scoring 85 or greater will not be required to attend Basic Arrhythmia.

4.  ACLS upon hire or within one year of hire

 

CVOR

  1. Basic Arrhythmia upon hire or within 1 year of hire

Intermediate Units

Same Day Care Unit

2. Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire or within 1 year (Exception:  Nurses with experience in patient populations requiring arrhythmia interpretation will be given the standard CRMC Basic Arrhythmia test and those scoring 85 or greater will not be required to attend Basic Arrhythmia.

3.  ACLS upon hire or within 1 year of hire

4.  PALS upon hire or within 2 years of hire

5.  Critical Care Course or CEN upon hire or within three years of hire (Exception (prior hire date of February 2015:   if greater than 5 years ED experience or if < 5 years and have obtained CEN no critical care course required).Effective February 2015: (Experienced emergency department nurses will be given the EDBKAT standardized test upon hire and those scoring 85 or greater will not be required to attend the Critical Care Course.)

6.   TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum) upon hire or within 2 years of hire

7.       ENPC within 3 years of hire effective 2013

Labor & Delivery

  1. Previous L&D experience preferred
