Cookeville Regional Medical Center seeks Full-Time Director of Emergency Services.

 

The Director of Emergency Services assures service, growth, development, personnel management, and resource allocation and management controls in order to ensure consistent high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department.  Enforces standards of emergency department care and develops processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance. Develops, implements, and evaluates an ongoing emergency services program which assures quality patient care consistent with the Hospital mission. The Director monitors compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety.

 

Successful candidate must be a graduate of an accredited BSN Nursing Program with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare preferred.

 

A minimum of five years’ progressive Emergency Department leadership is required.

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Pulmonary Apply

This position assists with the management of Pulmonary Critical Care Service Line patients.  In this role, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will assist with patients that have been admitted into the Pulmonary Service by the pulmonologists or when the Pulmonary Service have been consulted by other physicians.  The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant may assist the Pulmonary Service Line Physicians with admission of patients, patient rounds, consults, history and physicals, discharges and other duties with their scope of practice. 

 EDUCATION:  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Masters program.  Evidence of continuing education.  Current unrestricted Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse and RN.  Must hold a national Certification in a Nursing Specialty Area.

 EXPERIENCE:  Prefer 1-3 years NP experience with cardiac patients in acute hospital setting.  Previous experience as RN in ICU or cardiac step-down.

 SKILLS:  ACLS, Prescriptive Authority (DEA Number), proficient in clinical skills of assessment of Cardiac patients.  Abides by agreed upon protocol for patient care and possess good communication skills.  Knowledge and understanding of computer use.

Description:

This position is responsible for serving as a clinically trained professional nurse liaison between Information Systems, Nursing Services, Administration, and any other departments necessary that provide patient care.   This position uses expertise to develop, implement, and evaluate projects for the facility to best facilitate its clinical usefulness.  This position is responsible for coordination of the development of evidence-based physician order sets.  This position provides staff training and performance improvement of systems implemented/utilized.  This position assists in the development and implementation of the clinical components of care pathways and decision support systems to optimize the outcomes generated by the facility as a whole and its patients.  This position is capable of and may be assigned duties as a project leader with supervisory responsibility for other staff during a project.  This position engages in significant interaction with clients, vendors, support personnel, administration, peers, and others.

 

  1. EDUCATION:  Graduate of a school of professional nursing.  BSN preferred.  Current Tennessee RN license. Informatics degree preferred.  PC/Micro hardware and software as well as basic networking skills required.

 

  1. EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of three years clinical experience in nursing required.  Must be knowledgeable of new trends in clinical practice and information systems, and be able to apply data processing technology for clinical and physician service areas.  Two to three years of project management experience preferred.

 

  1. SKILLS:  Must have the ability to think logically.  Must have the ability to effectively use the various system tools provided.  Must have analytical and problem solving skills.  Must be able to utilize the various tools of the CQI process effectively.
