This position is responsible for serving as a clinically trained professional nurse liaison between Information Systems, Nursing Services, Administration, and any other departments necessary that provide patient care. This position uses expertise to develop, implement, and evaluate projects for the facility to best facilitate its clinical usefulness. This position is responsible for coordination of the development of evidence-based physician order sets. This position provides staff training and performance improvement of systems implemented/utilized. This position assists in the development and implementation of the clinical components of care pathways and decision support systems to optimize the outcomes generated by the facility as a whole and its patients. This position is capable of and may be assigned duties as a project leader with supervisory responsibility for other staff during a project. This position engages in significant interaction with clients, vendors, support personnel, administration, peers, and others.
EDUCATION: Graduate of a school of practical Nursing preferred with current Tennessee LPN license. PC/Micro hardware and software as well as basic networking skills preferred.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years clinical experience in nursing required. Must be knowledgeable of new trends in clinical practice and information systems, and be able to apply data processing technology for clinical and physician service areas. Two to three years of project management experience preferred.
SKILLS: Must have the ability to think logically. Must have the ability to effectively use the various system tools provided. Must have analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to utilize the various tools of the CQI process effectively.
