Description:

This position is responsible for reporting to the Environmental Services Director or assigned person(s) for work scheduling.  Perform daily cleaning procedures in accordance with EVS  policies and training videos in assigned areas.  Record work completed on Area Assignment Checklist.   Police assigned area at the beginning of each shift, respond to Housekeeping pages and perform other tasks as assigned.

 

  1. EDUCATION:  High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

 

  1. EXPERIENCE:  Previous related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

 

  1. SKILLS:       

 

  1. Must have communication skills in English.
  2. Demonstrate proper daily patient room cleaning. 
  3. Demonstrate proper cleaning of discharge rooms.
  4. Demonstrate proper use of equipment.
  5. Demonstrates proper use of chemicals and can locate material safety data sheets.
  6. Demonstrates communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Identifies correct procedures relating to life safety.
  8. Promotes patient safety.
  9. Demonstrates standard precaution procedures.
  10. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific patient care.
  11. Demonstrates use of Environmental Services solutions and procedures.

Description:

This position is responsible for reporting to the Environmental Services Director for work scheduling. Perform daily floor cleaning procedures and transportation of trash, linen and medical waste in accordance with CRMC training videos in assigned areas. Operation of floor equipment and routine maintenance and includes frequent lifting up to 75 pounds. Record work completed on Area Assignment Checklist. Respond to Housekeeping pages and perform other tasks as assigned by Director or designated person(s).

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Previous related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

SKILLS:

1. Must have communication skills in English.

2. Must possess the ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, over bed trapeze manuals, equipment maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and updating daily/weekly project schedules.

3. Must possess the ability to work with weights and measures (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using numbers, common fractions and decimals).

4. Uses time efficiently.

5. Communicates changes and progress.

6. Completes projects on time and within budget.

7. Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills. Displays original thinking and creativity.

8. Must possess the ability to perform required performance maintenance (PM’s) on battery operated and cord operated floor care equipment.

9. Capable of reading daily education room set up forms and completing the set ups in education rooms as needed.

10. Demonstrate proper daily patient room cleaning.

11. Demonstrate proper cleaning of discharge rooms.

12. Demonstrate proper use of floor care equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

13. Must demonstrate the ability to monitor the performance of all floor equipment for proper operation and report any malfunctioning equipment to their supervisor.

14. Capable of climbing a ladder in order to perform tasks like changing cubicle curtains or cleaning high fixtures, ledges or performing miscellaneous tasks.

15. Demonstrate proper lifting techniques.

16. Demonstrates proper use of chemicals and can read and locate material safety data-sheets.

17. Demonstrates communication and interpersonal skills.

18. Identifies correct procedures relating to life safety.

19. Promotes patient safety.
