Description:

This position is responsible for providing oversight, leadership, and direction for all corporate services of CRMG, including operations related to revenue cycle management, coding compliance, and central scheduling. 

EDUCATION

Bachelor level college degree required.  Masters degree preferred.  Education and credentials as Certified Professional Coder, other acceptable coding certificate.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years in management of revenue cycle services in a physician practice setting; previous physician coding and compliance experience required. Minimum of 7 years experience in medical office practice management and supervision.

 

SKILLS

Demonstrated skills in project management. Proven team development and leadership. Excellent understanding of professional fee billing and coding compliance in a variety of physician specialties.  Ability to monitor ongoing operational performance and make appropriate workflow adjustments accordingly.  Demonstrated ability to implement centralized processes within a complex environment.  Superior problem solving skills.  Must possess ability to work well under pressure.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Proven physician relation skills and ability to display tact and diplomacy in a variety of situations.

Description:

This position is responsible for coding and abstracting of medical records for Professional Services, as well as working with Providers to clarify or improve areas which affect coding.  May also complete special projects related to coding, documentation, and chart auditing.

EDUCATION 

Education and current credentials as Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), other acceptable coding certification.  Strong knowledge base of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and coding guidelines.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing/coding with experience in appropriate coding and billing practices for Professional Services.  Previous coding for multiple specialties preferred.

 

SKILLS

Demonstrates excellent understanding of ICD9-CM, HCPCS, and CPT-4 coding functions, billing requirements and coding compliance.  Knowledge of medical terminology, general office procedures, proficient keyboard and computer skills, knowledge of general office equipment and procedures.  Must possess ability to work well under pressure, to function independently and dependently, and to be flexible in applying knowledge to a variety of situations. Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines without being reminded and be flexible to changing needs of the Hospital and Department. Able to organize work to process in an efficient manner. Strong oral and written communication skills. Communicates well with others of all levels. Cooperative, congenial and positive behavior exhibited.  Must display tact and diplomacy in a variety of situations, with behavior and personal appearance reflecting a good image of Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
