Description:

This position is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting radiologists and/or staff physicians while administering ionizing radiation in the course of computerized tomography (CT) examinations in concordance with physician’s orders. This professionally trained person will be responsible for the operation of CT scanners, flow rate injectors, an EKG monitoring system, a picture archiving system.  This position is responsible for the use of radiographic supplies including iodinated contrast while providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. This position is responsible for performing a variety of basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, (HIS, RIS, PACS), and infection control.   This position, in addition to superb technical skills, will also require the ability to follow the CRMC service commitments to customers and fellow staff.

 

      1.   EDUCATION:  Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) as a CT Technologist

preferred.  If not currently registered in CT, must obtain CT certification within one year of completing CT training.

 

  1. EXPERIENCE:  Two years experience with all types of CT exams on multi-slice scanner is preferred.

 

  1. SKILLSOperates Computerized Tomography scanners, flow regulated injectors, UPS systems, patient monitors, hospital computer systems and other associated medical imaging equipment.  Have the ability to deal with patients, families and other hospital employees in a professional and caring manner in times of great stress and crises.  Have the abilty to handle constant pressure, stress and numerous interruptions associated with the busy schedule in the CT area.

Description:

This position is responsible for administrative, supervisory and advanced technical duties, as well as, performing as a staff CT technologist. Position is responsible for effectively recognizing, anticipating and solving problems. This position is responsible for supervising, delegating and directing the real time communication, resource scheduling, coordination, image quality, QC, training and PAC’s functions in the CT area of THE Imaging Center. The Chief CT Technologist shall supervise the technical performance of the staff and senior level CT technologists, to include CT examinations, PAC’s and customer service, safety, procedures, protocols and standards to achieve compliance and competency.  The Chief CT technologist must work closely with THE Imaging Center Director to ensure customer service success.

 

  1. EDUCATION:

Graduate of an AMA approved School or Radiologic Technology.  Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology or Business required, Bachelors perfererd.  Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), with subspecialty certifications in CT.

 

  1. EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years experience in CT is required.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.

 

  1. SKILLS:

Must be capable of directing human and physical resources to achieve an established standard of care in CT.  Must be highly skilled and motivated to meet customer service standards.  In addition must be competent to operate and monitor performance of the following equipment: Computerized tomography scanners, flow regulated injectors, UPS systems, patient monitors, hospital computer systems and other associated Imaging Center equipment.  Must deal with professional and caring attitude toward patients, families and other hospital employees in times of great stress.  Must be able to handle constant pressure, stress and numerous interruptions associated with busy schedules in the CT area.
