The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  This position is responsible for providing unit secretary support in the clinical settings of the Cancer Center.

 

1.  EDUCATION:  Minimum of high school diploma with business-related subjects; Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology  required.

2.  EXPERIENCE:  At least one year experience in medical office setting required.     Previous employment in an oncology clinic or hospital setting desirable.

3.  SKILLS:   Excellent customer service skills required. Must possess general knowledge of clinical aspect of oncology care, office procedures, typing skills, knowledge of office equipment. Proficient with computers and medical terminology. Must be a strong team player and able to manage multiple tasks and function independently.  Must be able    to adapt to changing work environment and work well under pressure.  Must have excellent communication skills and be highly organized.

Description:

The Oncology Dietitian will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years) This position is responsible for working with patients and their families, to help maintain optimal nutritional status throughout the course of their oncology diagnosis, treatments, remission, and/or recurrence.

EDUCATION:  Bachelors’ or advanced degree from accredited university with emphasis in food and nutrition. Oncology dietitian certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:  Completed an internship in program that is approved by American Dietetics Association.  2-3 years of clinical experience that includes working with the oncology population required.

SKILLS:  Workable knowledge of computer basics, as well as nutritional resources and general dietary and office equipment.  Skilled in educating mostly adults, but some experience in working with all ages would be helpful.

Description:

This position is responsible for performing & evaluating the validity of technical laboratory procedures in the Cancer Center , adult & geriatric patient specimens to obtain data for use in the diagnosis & treatment of oncology/hematology in accordance with CRMC & profession standards of practice; maintaining all aspects of quality assurance, control, & improvement; providing rapid & accurate reporting of results, preventative maintenance, & technical assistance; relaying & documenting all alert (critical) values appropriately; & models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the CRMC Mission and Values statement.

 

1.  EDUCATION:  An associate's degree as a medical laboratory technician (M.L.T.) with the completion of an NCCLS or AMA approved M.L.T.training program is preferred.  Licensure from the State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board as a generalist medical laboratory technician (M.L.T.).  Registry as a M.L.T. from a national board of certification [C.A.P., M.T. (A.S.C.P.); A.M.T.; N.C.A, C.L.S.], is preferred.

2.  EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of one (1) year experience with oncology patients in a hospital or other acute care setting  .

3.  SKILLS:  Problem resolution, continuous quality improvement, quality assurance, quality control, and proficiency testing.  Data result reporting.  Proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts, and techniques; in verbal, written communication, and calculations that are central to the professional discipline.

Description:

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.  Oversees the work of other professional and non-professional personnel.  

EDUCATION:  Graduate of a school of professional nursing.  Current Tennessee RN license. 

EXPERIENCE:       Oncology certification preferred

                                   Two years experience in acute care nursing with minimum one year experience in oncology required.

                   Must pass chemotherapy certification  course in order to adminstrator chemotherapy.

                  Knowledge of oncology treatments and side effect management. 

SKILLS:           BLS required at hire or during orientation, IV Qualified 

Oncology Authorization Specialist Apply

Description:

The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  This position is responsible for oncology billing processes including registration, authorization/pre-certification, charge entry, coding, billing, followup, collections and financial counseling for patients

 

1.  EDUCATION:     Minimum of high school diploma with business-related subjects;   Knowledge of third party billing and medical terminology/ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.  Fluent in assigning diagnosis codes based on ICD-9/ICD-10 coding nomenclature. Certified coder preferred.

 

2.  EXPERIENCE:    At least 2 years experience in medical office billing.  Experience dealing with third party payment systems

 

3.  SKILLS:   Must possess strong knowledge of general billing and collection procedures, charge entry, knowledge of billing software and billing guidelines. Proficient knowledge of computers and able to use Microsoft office products.  Must have a complete command of medical terminology, the ability to work as   part of an interdisciplinary team, manage multiple tasks and function independently.  Must be able   to adapt to changing work environment and work well under pressure.  Must work well with patients have excellent customer service skills.  Independent judgment required to determine appropriate techniques when collecting unpaid bills and negotiating patient payments.
