EDUCATION:  Graduate of a school of professional nursing.  Current Tennessee RN license. 

EXPERIENCE:  Oncology certification preferred.  Two years experience in acute care nursing with minimum one year experience in oncology required.  Must pass chemotherapy certification  course in order to adminstrator chemotherapy.  Knowledge of oncology treatments and side effect management. 

SKILLS:  BLS required at hire or during orientation, IV Qualified 

Dietitian Apply

The Oncology Dietitian will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years) This position is responsible for working with patients and their families, to help maintain optimal nutritional status throughout the course of their oncology diagnosis, treatments, remission, and/or recurrence.

EDUCATION:  Bachelors’ or advanced degree from accredited university with emphasis in food and nutrition. Oncology dietitian certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:  Completed an internship in program that is approved by American Dietetics Association.  2-3 years of clinical experience that includes working with the oncology population required.

SKILLS:  Workable knowledge of computer basics, as well as nutritional resources and general dietary and office equipment.  Skilled in educating mostly adults, but some experience in working with all ages would be helpful.

This position is responsible for performing & evaluating the validity of technical laboratory procedures in the Cancer Center , adult & geriatric patient specimens to obtain data for use in the diagnosis & treatment of oncology/hematology in accordance with CRMC & profession standards of practice; maintaining all aspects of quality assurance, control, & improvement; providing rapid & accurate reporting of results, preventative maintenance, & technical assistance; relaying & documenting all alert (critical) values appropriately; & models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the CRMC Mission and Values statement.


1.  EDUCATION:  An associate's degree as a medical laboratory technician (M.L.T.) with the completion of an NCCLS or AMA approved program is preferred.  Licensure from the State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board as a generalist medical laboratory technician (M.L.T.).  Registry as a M.L.T. from a national board of certification [C.A.P., M.T. (A.S.C.P.); A.M.T.; N.C.A, C.L.S.], is preferred.

2.  EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of one (1) year experience with oncology patients in a hospital or other acute care setting  .

3.  SKILLS:  Problem resolution, continuous quality improvement, quality assurance, quality control, and proficiency testing.  Data result reporting.  Proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts, and techniques; in verbal, written communication, and calculations that are central to the professional discipline.


Radiation Therapist Apply

The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  The primary responsibility of the Chief Radiation Therapist is to coordinate day-to-day activities of the radiation therapists and will perform technical and supervisory duties in the Radiation Therapy department, enforcing established departmental and hospital policies and procedures in order to provide high quality and efficient patient care. Is responsible to promote harmonious relations and favorable attitudes among the health care team, including therapists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, administration and the medical staff. Serves as a liaison between the radiation therapy staff and the patient, the physicians, the general public and the medical community to coordinate quality patient care.  Is required to demonstrate leadership and ability to make decisions and solve problems as they arise.  Is responsible for the implementation and continuous review of clinical practice standards as relates to external beam treatment delivery. Performs radiation therapy duties and procedures as staffing and workload dictates.  Support the philosophy, goals and objectives of the organization. 


1.  EDUCATION:  Required: Graduate of accredited school of Radiation Therapy.  Associate or B.S. Degree in Radiological Health Science or Business Administration Administration/Management.

Licensure: Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiation Therapy (R.T.T.)

2.  EXPERIENCE:  Three to five years recent experience in Radiation Therapy and demonstrated leadership skills.  Must have a broad scope of experience in Radiation Oncology. Experience with staff education/mentoring as well as quality improvement a plus. Supervisory experience preferred.

 3.  SKILLS:  Must be knowledgeable of the daily operating procedures of the Radiation Oncology Department with strong radiation therapy/simulation skills.  Ability to coordinate staff, treatments, special procedures and function independently.trong interpersonal skills. Takes initiative to organize the team and work under pressure, completes deadlines, and remain  flexible.  Acts as a liaison between staff, patients, physicians, and the Director of Oncology Service.  Must be highly motivated, team oriented, compassionate and able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.  Must demonstrate creative problem solving ability. Highly organized and team oriented with excellent communication skills.
