Radiation Therapist Apply

Description:

The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  This position is responsible for accurately administering radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.  Assists as a liaison between patient physician and nursing staff.  Explains treatment procedures to patients and their family members when asked.  Reinforces recommendations and instructions to the patient concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiation area.

1. EDUCATION:  Graduate of accredited school of Radiation Therapy.  Certified with American Registry Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology (ARRT).

2. EXPERIENCE:  Registry or registry eligible as RTT.  Two years working experience in Radiation Therapy Preferred.

3. SKILLS: Knowledge in Radiation Oncology, the principles governing radiation safety, use, and application of radiation to the healing arts.  Ability to operate all equipment in the department necessary in providing patient treatments, able to handle incapacitated and difficult patients, and remain calm in a crisis situation.

Description:

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care to the oncology population under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed oncologist. The Advanced Nurse Clinician assesses patients’ medical conditions and prescribes treatments under physician orders in conformity with usual practice, advises and counsels patients of expected oncology treatment side effects and outcomes.

 1. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Masters program. Evidence of continuing education.  Current unrestricted Tennessee license as a Nurse Practitioner/ Advanced Practice Nurse and RN. Must hold a national certification in a nursing specialty area.   Oncology certification preferred.

2. EXPERIENCE: Three to five years RN experience with experience in oncology preferred. Previous NP experience preferred.

3. SKILLS:  ACLS, IV Qualified .  Prescriptive authority (DEA Number), proficient in clinical skills of assessment of oncology patients.  Expert knowledge of oncology treatments and able to identify patients experiencing side effects and intervene with treatment protocol.  Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate flexibility and function independently. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, high level of motivation, teamwork, professionalism and trustworthiness.

Description:

The Director will be responsible for the successful operation of the Cancer program (Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology) including development of budget, goals/objective and policies/procedures. An oncology knowledge base is essential to actively promote Cancer Center activities. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is accountable for providing vision, leadership, and promoting innovation in developing and implementing strategies and polices to provide high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and documenting oncology best practices
  • Manages the cancer registry, cancer program accreditation efforts, Clinical Trials, Patient Navigation Services, Nutrition, Social Work and related activities.
  • Coordinates with Marketing to expand oncology services and increase market share, through both external marketing efforts and internal analysis.
  • Coordinates communication between the Cancer Center, Administration, Marketing, Oncology Committee, Nursing Service, Radiation Oncology and other involved areas.
  • Actively represents CRMC in the Community in a manner that reflects CRMC’s Mission, Vision and values
  • Manage oncology revenue cycle team to ensure positive margins in the oncology service line

This position places strong emphasis on the following outcomes: delivery of quality services, applying best practices, creating a highly-effective work unit, developing and retaining excellent personnel including nurses, social workers and nurse navigators. The Director will work closely with the Medical Staff.

Description:

This position is responsible for :

A. Accurately and efficiently Transcribing dictation regarding patients and patient care from the dictation system.

B. Providing legible, timely information dictated by physicians for attachment to the patient's record, thereby enabling better patient care.

1. EDUCATION: High school diploma with training in medical transcription.

2. EXPERIENCE:  At least 6 months experience in a medical transcription setting and experience transcribing oncology terminology is preferred.

3. SKILLS: Must possess knowledge of medical terminology, oncology drug terminology; proficient typing skills, basic knowledge of computer software including word processing; internet, phone, and e-mail skills.  Must possess ability to work well under pressure to function independently and to be flexible in applying knowledge to a variety of situations.  Cooperative, congenial, and positive behavior exhibited.  Behavior and personal appearance reflecting a good image of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Must maintain minimum productivity and quality standards as they are established.
